"Achanurangatha Veedu" - Miles away from my Expectations !!

Once again Lal Jose makes new dimensions to Malayalam movies.

'Achanurangatha Veedu' tells the story of Prabhakaran. Prabhakaran, a student of Thiruvalla Marthoma College who falls head over heels in love with Lillykutty, a Christian girl. All for love, Prabhakaran marries Lillykutty against the wishes of his family and converts to Christianity and change his name to Samuel.

A happy family life, makes a U-turn when Lillykutty dies after giving birth to their third daughter. Samuel is now burdened in bringing up his children single handedly. The eldest daughter is married to a good for nothing drunkard. The second daughter discontinues her studies due to family burdens. Samuel threads all hope on his third daughter Lissamma and dreams of making her a doctor. But she is dubiously caught in a sex racket. Lal Jose portrays an ordinary man's painful story, who despite all social stigma and mental trauma, tries to move his life.

Lal Jose's success lies in bringing a new face of Salim Kumar the role of a fifty plus widower and a father of three daughters. Salim Kumar famous as a comedy artist is given a break role in 'Achanurangantha Veedu'. Every actors and actresses role is commendable in this movie. Mukta an eighth standard student gets a special mention who acts as Lisammma in this movie.

Achanurangatha Veedu produced under the banner of Griha Mithra productions is ready for release. Lal Jose, one of the top commercial directors in Malayalam who has churned hits like Meesa Madhavan Chanthupottu is making a realistic film without any big stars.

Salim Kumar who has made his mark as a comedian is the protagonist, Samuel, an employee of the Irrigation Department who is on the verge of retirement. Although Samuel is a Christian, he was never really included in the fold by certain sections in the community as he was a recent convert.

His wife had died earlier and he had pinned all his hopes on his three daughters. His eldest daughter, Treesa (Suja Karthika), is married to a driver Johnnykutty ( Harisree Asokan).

Samuel's second daughter Sherly (Samvritha) is in love with her cousin. However, as Christians frown upon marriage between first cousins, things take a tragic turn. Samuel wants his youngest daughter, Lisamma (Muktha) to be a doctor. But the Plus Two student does not return home in the evening. The issues that ensue are the focus of the story.

Babu Janardhanan is the scriptwriter. The film also stars Murali, Prithviraj, Indrajit and Madhu Warrier. Lyrics are by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and music by Alex Paul. Manoj Pillai wields the camera.

I do feel that it is a movie of numerous hidden messages. I personally saw the movie with my friends.I felt bad when my friends expressed bad abt the movie.
The movie is still resting in my heart as a pain.I felt guilty of my consciousness but i couldn't find why?

The movie also depicts the typical kerala scenario where relationships are getting much thinner among friends as well as family members which diverts the mind in to other extreme thoughts.

I believe it is amovie that every teenager and every youth of kerala should watch to enlighten one 's consciousness about the hidden animal inside the all innocent malayalee.

hats off to all who thought of makin such a movie.....
